Schumer is Center-Right? Right!

The recent claims that Chuck Schumer of New York is some kind of mushy centrist is patently absurd. Those who claim that Schumer is a "Reagan Democrat" show their unfamiliarity with actual Reagan Democrats. The fact is, Schumer sits right about in the middle of his party, and may even be on the left wing.

Let's look at Schumer's Progressive Punch score: 90.69 out of 100. This puts him 15th in the Senate rankings. This makes him more progressive than:

Russ Feingold (19th)

John Kerry (24th)

Joe Biden (25th)

Dianne Feinstein (26th)

And only slightly less progressive than:

Pat Leahy (14th)

Tom Harkin (11th)

Seems to me like Schumer's right in the middle of the Democratic pack. Yep, he's more liberal than 29 Democrats, more than twice the number of Dems to his left.

Yea, but he supports the immigration issue, he supported the war in Iraq, and was critical in helping compromising the Patriot Act, that seems more moderate voting record than you say.
