My own favorite strategy involves a two-front attack. First, keep the political heat on the administration, especially with the Gonzalez scandal. If we keep the pressure on and force Gonzalez out, this will weaken the President politically with his own party. This will help us with the votes we'll need. We need to keep finding the weak spots and hitting them hard.

Secondly, when we send the supplemental back to the President, we should go ahead and take the "timeline" stuff out, calling the President's bluff. We'll keep the troop training requirements, however, and tighten them so that there's no wiggle room. This would still effectively end the war, since there's no way they can properly train and equip the soldiers and still continue the war. We should be able to keep all of our votes, though we still need to whip hard.

If the President vetoes again, we've got to dig in - the polls are on our side. But we can't just rest on our laurels, it will take an all-out media blitz, with strong message discipline. We need to drill it into the heads of every American that the President is fighting to continue the war and is opposing the Democrats' plan to fund and train the troops. Roll out all of our vets.
